Dressing for Easter

I know many moms out there have already planned and/or purchased Easter outfits for their little kids. Well, hand me the bad mommy card because I have NOT. I’m going to be real with y’all. I have two BOYS. Two boys that seem heck bent on staining every piece of clothing I buy them. So let’s just say, I don’t get too excited to buy them expensive new outfits they’ll likely wear only once…and/or possibly ruin that day.

We pretty much try to attend church every Sunday, so despite our lack of new clothes, I think we’re a little ahead of some that are putting on their “Easter best” this coming Sunday since for many it will be the last time they see church until Christmas. Needless to say, we have a fair amount of khakis, polos and button-downs for the boys to wear to church, so really, I don’t see the need in purchasing anything new just because it’s Easter. In fact, there’s a good chance I’ll put them in the outfits they wore for our downtown family photo shoot:

{But maybe khakis instead of jeans? Yeah.}

I probably won’t purchase an Easter dress for myself either, I have a few things in my closet that I haven’t even worn yet…and actually there is one Lauren Conrad dress I bought a little over a year ago at Kohl’s that I’ve never worn and I think it would be the perfect Easter dress:

So pretty, floral and very “spring” if you ask me.

What about you? Do you buy new Easter church outfits each year? What about for your kids?

Minnetonka Moccasins in Action

So I received my Minnetonka Moccasins on my doorstep the other day…you know, the ones I posted about the other day when I saw adorable Emily Maynard in them. And well, the verdict:
I just absolutely love them!
They are soooo comfortable and they look so well-made. I enjoyed wearing them to work the day after I received them…my feet remained comfortable…and I walk on a cement factory floor all day!
I have been looking for ideas on fun ways to style them…I will show you some pics of myself in them in just a moment. But here are some inspiring pics – apparently many in the celeb crowd are Minnetonka fans as well!
Here’s a personal fashionista fave of mine – Lauren Conrad:

I personally love pairing mine with leggings. I do also love them with some dark blue skinny jeans. And I’m excited for summer because I think I will pull a Miley and rock them with some jean shorts…gotta love all year round boots! Here is how I styled them the first day I wore them {forgive my messy closet}…but I know there are so many other options!

Lauren Conrad – Beauty

I’ve been a fan of Lauren Conrad since Laguna Beach first aired on MTV {when I was living just a stone’s throw away in Huntington Beach} and changed the world of reality soap operas forever. This show paved the way for this girl’s career as a fashion and beauty maven and put her into the hearts of fashionistas worldwide. Her “girl-next-door” persona made her easy to relate to. In all of the reality shows, I would say she seemed the most “real” at the end of the day.

One of my favorite book purchases to date is Lauren Conrad: Style.

See it sittin’ pretty here on my secretary desk? {That other one is Victoria Beckham’s – she’s a fashion fave too.} And that art piece is a quick one I threw together to go with the living room space – inspired by Jen at Made By Girl/Cocoa & Hearts.

This book is great…she basically goes over the key staples that should be in every girl’s wardrobe and gives plenty of tips on how to put some great outfits together.

Since I’ve fallen in love with this book {and her style}, I was super-excited to find out she is coming out with a sequel – Lauren Conrad: Beauty.

I mean, the girl is gorgeous, who wouldn’t want to snag her beauty tips? And she does a fab cat’s eye. It will be available in stores and online on October 16th, 2012. {You know I’ve already pre-ordered my copy!} This book will look lovely in that stack on my secretary desk. {After I read every last word of course!}

And if you need more coercion…take a look at some of her fabulous looks:
